Getting started with the Plus D
If you're not familiar with the Plus D, the first thing to do is download the manual from here.
You will also need the system tape available here (this is the cassette mentioned in the manual).
You will now be able to create a system disk (image). Once you have booted the Plus D from your new system disk, you will be able to access Plus D software on real 3½" disks or disk images.
Pre-booting G+DOS or Uni-DOS
There is currently no option to pre-boot G+DOS or Uni-DOS each time Spectaculator starts.
However, you can work around this by using snapshots:
Boot off a system disk (image) to setup the Plus D.
Save a zx-state (.szx) snapshot to disk.
Each time you start Spectaculator, reload this snapshot and your Plus D will be ready for use.
Note
Although the snapshot will be saved with a particular machine configuration, you can easily switch to a different Spectrum model - the Plus D will stay in it's 'booted' state.
Tip
For extra convenience, add the snapshot to the Favourites menu.
Create multiple snapshots for different Plus D configurations (e.g. BetaDOS, G+DOS, Uni-DOS, different printer settings etc.).
