To open a Microdrive cartridge

  1. On the File menu, click Open.

  2. Locate the Microdrive cartridge file, click it, and then click Open.

  3. Choose a Microdrive to insert the cartridge into then click OK.

  4. If the Microdrives window is hidden, click Microdrives on the View menu to see which cartridges are in which drives.

Tip

  • The Introduction, Games and Business cartridges supplied with new Microdrives are available to download from Spectrum Computing.

  • You can also use the image1 toolbar button to open Microdrive cartridges.

  • If you choose a Microdrive that already contains a cartridge, Spectaculator will automatically eject it and insert the new cartridge.

Note

  • Microdrive cartridges cannot be ejected if the cartridge is currently in use (ie. the Microdrive motor is on).

  • Treat Microdrive cartridge files just like the real thing - do not reset the Spectrum or exit Spectaculator while the Spectrum is reading or writing to a cartridge.
